Peanut Butter Blossoms

This is my hubby’s favorite cookie! This cookie was part of my 2012 Christmas Baking Madness and is a recipe we double every Christmas.  The original recipe can be found HERE on Hershey.com’s website. Peanut butter and chocolate will always be a winning combination!

Printable Recipe: Peanut Butter Blossoms

Ingredients:

  • 48 Hershey Kisses (unwrapped)

  • 3/4 cup creamy peanut butter

  • 1/3 cup packed brown sugar

  • 2 tablespoons milk

  • 1 – 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 cup shortening

  • 1/3 cup sugar

  • 1 egg

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • Additional sugar

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375. Beat shortening and peanut butter in a large bowl until well blended. Add 1/3 C sugar and brown sugar; beat until fluffy. Add egg, milk and vanilla; beat well. Stir together flour, baking soda and salt in another bowl. Gradually beat into peanut butter mix. Shape dough into 1” balls. Roll in sugar, place on ungreased cookie sheet or a cookie sheet covered in parchment paper. Bake 7-9 minutes or until lightly browned. Immediately press a Hershey Kiss into the center of each cookie (cookie will crack a little around the edges). Put back in over for 1 minute.

Cool for 3-5 minutes on cookie sheet; then move cookies to a cookie rack to cool completely. Makes 4 dozen.
