Santa’s Favorite Sugar Cookies

I found this recipe on Pinterest and loved that it took only a few ingredients. I followed the recipe exactly as written. These cutie patooties added just the right splash of color our cookie platters needed. I am glad this recipe made the final cut in my 2012 Christmas Baking Madness. The recipe on Pinterest used red, green and tealish colors for the icing. I went with blue balls because, well, it’s funny! Yep, I’m that mature at times, LOL!

Printable Recipe: Santa’s Favorite Sugar Cookies

Cookie Ingredients:

  • 1/2 lb margarine or butter, creamed

  • 3/4 cup cornstarch

  • 1/3 cup powdered sugar

  • 1 cup flour

Icing Ingredients:

  •  1 teaspoon vanilla

  • 3 oz of cream cheese, softened

  • 1 cup powdered sugar

  • Your choice of food coloring

Preheat oven to 350F. Mix cookie ingredients together and beat until creamy. Roll (flour on hands helps) in round teaspoons. Bake for 10-12 minutes.

Allow to cool completely in pan. Beat icing ingredients together with a hand mixer.

Frost icing using a pastry bag (or a Ziploc bag with the corner cut off) Cookies are fragile and should not be heavily handled.
